TShirt Laundry’s Top Pop Culture Happenings of 2012

Posted by TShirt Laundry on 1/3/2013 to New Releases
2012 is over. It’s done. So why in the world would we want to look back on the past year instead of focusing on what’s to come in 2013? Because some pretty momentous pop culture events are worth reliving again, that’s why. And because (shameless plug) we made some pretty sweet tees to go along with those events.

Some moments made us laugh, some made us a little fearful (losing Sesame Street would be devastating) and some changed our lives forever. Let’s take a quick look back, shall we?

Gangnam Style Took Over
Even though singing along to this song is next to impossible without making up your own words, we loved every crazy minute of it. And that dance? Sure to make you the life of the party.

Our take: Gundam Style

Big Bird Escaped the Unemployment Line

Things were a little touch and go for a minute for the cast of Sesame Street. Luckily for children everywhere who need to learn their alphabet (ok - us too, let’s be honest), Big Bird won’t be searching for a new job anytime soon.

Our take: Will Work for Seed

We Survived the Mayan Apocalypse
We waited all year. Some of us hypothesized, some of us prepped and some of us just simply doubted. Looks like we all made it out okay… or did we? Maybe it’s the Alpacalypse we should have been worried about all this time.

Our take: The Alpacalypse

Disney Acquires Lucasfilm
While we don’t expect Mickey and Donald are studying to become Jedi anytime soon, we can’t help but imagine all the witty movie collaborations these two companies could produce.

Our take: Death Star Pictures

The Curiosity Rover Visits Mars
Could this space advancement finally answer the age old question – is there life on Mars? We hope findings from this specialty space craft can finally provide us with some valid answers.

Our take: Curiosity Killed the Cat
